1. What does Retail Management Solution (RMS) do?

Retail Management Solution (RMS) is point-of-presence solution for transfer, back-up, and restoring user content onto mobile devices. From the retail store, a user's data can be transferred between handsets and also backed up to the server. The administrative component provides a comprehensive set of tools allowing the carrier to manage the service and extract valuable marketing and operational data.

2. Who should use RMS?

RMS is best used for wireless carriers and their affiliated store chains to support mobile device sales and customer service with value-added phonebook and content transfer, back-up, and restore services in a multi-store environment. The number of stores supported by a single FutureDial RMS server system ranges from several to thousands.

3. Can RMS transfer and back up premium content other than phonebooks?

RMS supports the management of not only phonebooks, but also music and ringtones, pictures and image files, video, SMS and MMS on many advanced phone models. See the RMS Data Sheet for more details about the different formats which are supported.

4. Is Retail Management Solution (RMS) easy to use?

RMS has a user-friendly step-by-step interface that any retail employee can use to perform a transfer operation. Almost all setup and configuration is automatic, so training is minimal.

5. What's the cost to purchase and install RMS?

RMS is a low-cost solution available from FutureDial through store license-based purchase or through revenue share models, depending on the carrier's business strategy: both have been successfully adopted by FutureDial customers. Please contact FutureDial Sales for more details.

6. How Many phones are supported?

At present RMS supports over 1000 mobile device models in various markets worldwide, the largest portfolio offered by any solution provider. FutureDial has a talented development team dedicated to supporting device expansion as required by all of our customers. As new phone models are launched on the market, we develop updates and these are distributed automatically for you, so your stores are always up-to-date with the latest support. For the latest information about supported devices, please contact FutureDial Sales with specific inquiries for your market.

7. What about security?

RMS utilizes Oracle's Transparent Data Encryption to ensure that the user's content is protected at all times. This feature protects sensitive data in database columns stored in operating system files by encrypting it. To prevent unauthorized decryption, encryption keys are stored in a security module external to the database.
