FutureDial Incorporated, the leading developer of cell phone content management solutions for wireless carriers and retailers, announced an enhanced version of its solution for independent wireless retail stores that is helping store owners earn more revenue with every phone sale.

FutureDial Hosted RMS^™ (Retail Management Solution^™) is a web-based mobile phone data transfer and backup service which was launched in September 2007. Since that time, FutureDial has been signing up independent wireless stores and expanded the number of supported mobile devices. More features have also been added based on market feedback, such as faster performance for transfer operations, backing up and restoring not only by the sever, but also by the store’s PC hard drive or flash drive, providing customers the approximate wait time, enhanced transaction reports which can be emailed to the customer, and other features.

Wireless retailers are attracted to the simplicity and cost advantages of FutureDial’s solution. Unlike other products in the marketplace that can cost over $1,000 (plus the cost of updates) or require additional hardware with fewer features, Hosted RMS runs on a store’s internet-connected PC. All that is required is a Starter Kit which includes necessary phone cables and a USB hub. Hosted RMS is priced at $299 (a one-time charge) with no additional cost for future updates, which appeals to “mom and pop” store owners who charge customers for the service, with revenues shared with FutureDial.

Hosted RMS enables stores to not only transfer a customer’s personal data and premium content from an old phone to a new phone, but also back it all up on FutureDial’s remote server. The customer’s files can then be restored if a phone is ever lost, stolen or damaged. Based on carriers’ market research, the increasing importance of keeping contacts and personal content stored on phones means that customers are willing to pay wireless retailers between $10 and $20 for performing transfer and backup services. Additional features include erasing data and printing out copies of phone contact lists.

Hosted RMS is compatible with hundreds of cell phone models of major US wireless carriers such as Sprint, Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile, and is available for purchase online from the FutureDial website.
