Frequently Asked Questions

How many phones are compatible with the Hosted RMS Service?
Click here to see the list of currently supported handset models. We add support for new phone models on a continual basis. As new phone models are launched on the market, updates are distributed automatically for you, so your store is always equipped with the latest support.

What is included with the service sign up?
The sign-up procedure requires purchase of the Hosted RMS Solution Startup Kit which includes a set of basic cables, a USB hub device, and it entitles you to download and install the software program onto your store's PC. In return, the store receives automated new phone package downloads, software upgrades, and access to FutureDial hotline support.

Does my store PC need Internet access to use the Hosted Solution?
Yes. Internet access is required, to allow for the FutureDial Hosted Service to automatically deliver new phone model updates and other software updates to your PC in the background, and to manage and monitor transactions via the FutureDial RMS server.

How Easy is it to Set Up?
It is a straightforward, simple process: You connect a FutureDial USB Hub to your store's internet-enabled PC, connect the FutureDial phone cables to the FutureDial USB Hub, and install the software onto the PC. Any future updates are downloaded onto your PC via the internet from FutureDial automatically, so you do not have to configure anything, keeping your system up-to-date to process the latest phones when they are launched on the market.

What are the minimal requirements to run RMS at my store?

  • Internet Connectivity: DSL or higher speed access for your store's PC
  • Web Browser: Internet Explorer version 6 or 7
  • CPU: Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon 1.4GB or Higher
  • Windows XP and Service Pack 2. Windows Vista is currently not supported.
  • Hard Disk: 300 MB of free space available
  • RAM: 512 MB Ram required, 1GB recommended

My phone does not show as one of your supported phones. Can I try to select a similar phone model in the RMS Program and then transfer the phone data?
No. Since each handset's protocol for reading and writing is different, selecting the wrong handset in the program is not recommended. You can send an email to FutureDial, requesting support for a particular handset model, which FutureDial can take under consideration for possible development and future updates. FutureDial reserves the right to decide whether or not to develop supporting updates for a particular handset model.

I purchased a third-party cable. Will it work with the Hosted RMS Solution?
Only FutureDial-brand data cables can be used with Hosted RMS. These have been tested and certified for use with the Hosted RMS Solution. We have not tested any third-party data cables, and cannot guarantee that they will work with the Hosted RMS Solution.

I have FutureDial cables and a FutureDial USB Hub for my RDM System. Will these work with the RMS Hosted Solution?
Yes. However, if you need other cables to support the latest phone models, you will need to purchase them separately from FutureDial. Click here to buy additional cables.

I have FutureDial RDM. Can I use RMS Hosted Solution?
For a limited time, existing customers who have previously purchased the FutureDial Retail Device Manager (RDM) solution will receive a free software upgrade to migrate to the new Hosted RMS service platform. You can still use your existing RDM system's Hub and Phone Cables. Sign Up Now
