The following tips can help you troubleshoot some of the issues you may encounter when using RMS web client.
Do I need to connect the AC adaptor of the FutureDial USB hub to a power outlet?
Yes, the FutureDial USB hub should always be connected to a power outlet.
What should I do if a phone device is not detected in RMS?
Check the following in the order listed:
- If the phone uses a Bluetooth connection, be sure to enable Bluetooth on device.
- If the phone uses a USB cable connection, check to ensure the devices are connected to the correct ports on the USB hub. In case of a transfer transaction the source/old device should be connected to port 1 and target/new device should be connected to port 2. For all other operations (backup, restore, print and erase), the phone should be connected to port 1.
- Check to ensure the data cable is securely connected to device.
- If you are doing transfer, avoid plugging in 2 devices at the same time. Wait for USB driver to finish installing for first device before plugging in another one.
- If the physical connection is good, restart the phone and try again.
- For some phones, during a phone operation, the RMS client’s phone tip prompts you to choose the phone mode when the phone is connected to the USB hub with a cable. If for some reason the phone does not allow you to select the phone mode, unplug the phone, restart the phone and plug in the phone again.
- If RMS continuously fails to detect the phone, and you have tried rebooting the phone and unplugging-replugging the cable, the issue may be related to the web browser (ie. Internet Explorer). In such a case, close all the browser windows and restart a browser window and login to RMS again.
- Restart PC if the Phone Detection still does not work.
Where should I insert the FutureDial Bluetooth adapter?
You can insert the Bluetooth adapter in any of the ports 3 to 7 on the FutureDial USB hub. Leave ports 1 and 2 open for cable connection.

What should I do if Windows Mobile device doesn’t work in RMS?
Check the phone to see if there’re any pending actions needed from you. If PIM Manager doesn't pop up, restart the phone and re-plug the cable to try again. PIM warning on the device should pop up when RMS is trying to access the phone.
What should I do if a RMS transaction runs forever?
Always check the phone to see if there're any pending actions needed from you, or RMS will just keep waiting. If there’s no message on device, restart the device and try again.

Data will be kept in the server indefinitely. If needed, your RMS administrator can work with FutureDial to delete the data manually from the database.
Will any error occur if the handset gets incoming call / SMS during the data transfer?
