IMPORTANT: DO NOT MODIFY contact information directly from your phone DURING the time the application is running - Data may be lost. Exit the application first. General: Duplicate names - on the phone are not recommended since they can produce inconsistent results for sync. Blank names - from phone are represented as "No Name" entries in SnapSync. A sequential number (starting from 0) is added to the name for each blank entry. Read/write errors - possible on phones with very low battery charge. Print Preview - Does not display/print all digits of long phone numbers. Outlook: General/Network: Exchange server settings may cause error message regarding Outlook Not Responding - When Outlook is ready, application will launch successfully. General: Link and sync with duplicate contacts in Outlook who share identical first name, last name, and company name can produce erroneous results for Sync operation. Long numbers from Outlook - Phone numbers greater than the length supported by phone (typically 32 digits) that are imported from Outlook are truncated without warning when written to the phone. Outlook 2002: Prompts with "Email access alert" when SnapSync is launched - This is part of the safeguards of Outlook. When prompted, enable access to continue loading program. Hitachi: P-300: Need to unplug the USB cable from phone and re-connect the USB cable after every Export and Read. Handset does not allow P and T at the beginning of the phone number. Handset does not set customized Personal Ringers. Secret entries are not displayed on Handset, but can be retried by SnapSync. Kyocera: General: Occasionally reading phone data might present a "blank" phone list in the program - close the application and try to launch SnapSync again. Email field: 128 character long email address is supported. LG: TP5200 - Some phones may need to be manually turned on after READ and WRITE operations - These phones do not automatically power up after soft-reset is issued following READ and WRITE functions. If your phone displays this behaviour, please check for phone software upgrade from your carrier - Does not impact functionality. TP52XX - Contacts with only email address (no phone) are not written to the phone - This is per phone spec. An email-only entry cannot be created on the phone, unless there is a phone number associated with the contact. TP52XX: Contacts with multiple "same type" phone entries per contact are limited to viewing/editing one instance each of the types in combination. Additional duplicate phone types are preserved when writing to the phone. 5350: 30% of the time, application doesn't Read all contacts from Phone - close the application and try to launch SnapSync again. Motorola: Contacts with multiple phone entries per contact are limited to one instance each of the four types Home, Work, Mobile, and Pager in combination. A contact can have all four types, but no duplicate types. Duplicate types may be lost. Samsung: General: Contacts marked SECRET in phone are not "masked" in SnapSync, and SECRET setting may be turned off on edited contact data written to phone. General: Ringer type on edited entries is reset to ringer 1 - Does not effect other entries on phone. 3500: Default phone entries are displayed under the "No Label" column - scroll the phone list display to the right to view. 3500: Merge function may create duplicates in phone list for entries in the file that do not include a "No Label" type. 3500: Contact names longer than 10 characters will not sync with Outlook, unless the contact includes a "No Label" phone type as part of its record. A500, N400, N240, A460 handset users: Please note that due to a special design, you need to use the specific cable provided by FutureDial to use both the SnapSync and SnapDialer software. This cable has dual USB connectors, one for use with SnapSync (Green), and one for use with SnapDialer (Red). Connect only one USB connector at any time. That is, if you are using SnapSync, please only plug in the Green USB connector, and not the Red. Also, note that you will need to install USB drivers for each configuration of the cable. That is, you will install a USB driver for SnapSync when you first plug in the Green connector, and you will install another USB driver for SnapDialer when you first plug in the Red connector. If you are an N240 user, note that the N240 does not support data connectivity and therefore you can only use SnapSync. If you are an A460 user, note that A460 has a different architecture, and you will need to use the Red (SnapDialer) end of the cable for both SnapSync and SnapDialer to work properly. For Samsung A500 users, please note that SnapSync was designed to work with the latest and greatest features of the handset, and thus requires firmware version VI16 or later to work properly. If you have firmware version VH10 or earlier, please go to a Sprint store and get your phone's firmware upgraded before using SnapSync. You can see the firmware information by selecting Menu->0 Settings->0 Phone Info->Menu and the firmware version appears on the second line. Sanyo: For all Sanyo phones, if you have associated any specific phonebook entry with Voice Dial, please do not edit nor delete these entries using SnapSync. You can edit and delete these entries manually through the handset's keypad. General: During READ and WRITE operations the phone displays the message: "Service Required". This is a normal message during the operation of the software and can be ignored. Once the READ and WRITE is complete, the phone will return to normal operation after the RESET operation. 4000: Contacts marked SECRET in phone are not "masked" in SnapSync, however, secret setting is maintained on phone even if contact data is edited in SnapSync. ------------------------ Registering and Updates ------------------------ For support visit www.futuredial.com.
